Hospital Choices - Healthcare Hero

The head of Chaplaincy and Bereavement Services at Newham University Hospital, was the lucky winner of a brand new Renault Megane worth 20,000, after scooping the Healthcare Hero Award at the HEAL Awards hosted by 24/7 Media Group.

Yunus Dudhwala gave an almost tearful gratitude to both friends and family, as well as thanking 24/7 Media Group and NHS online, on being crowned the winner of the award which recognises the NHS employee of the year voted by both colleagues and members of the public.

“I feel extremely humbled”, he later said. Amazing, amazing feeling. So many people who work in the NHS do a fantastic job and it’s fantastic for them to be recognised.”

University Hospital Lewisham midwife, Kathleen Johnson, and Specialist Infection Prevention and Control Nurse at West Middlesex University Hospital, Janice Scott, were the runners-up, and each won a 12-day cruise courtesy of Fred Olsen.
